A woman has died after a collision in Aurora Tuesday morning. Police said the crash happened at East 40th Avenue and Airport Boulevard. Police found a black 1994 Nissan SUV and a tan 2000 Buick in the intersection. The driver of the Buick, a 63-year-old woman, was transported to University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora where she died as a result of her injuries.
The driver of the Nissan, a 28-year-old man, was uninjured and cooperative with the investigation. "The investigation revealed the Buick was northbound on Airport Boulevard and was struck by the Nissan, which was eastbound on 40th Avenue," Christopher Carleton with Aurora police said in a prepared statement. Carleton said it appeared the Nissan failed to stop for the red signal, entered the intersection and struck the Buick. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
